There is so much to say – and we’re not always the greatest at sayin’ it – but we’ll do our best. So without further ado, here is a whole bunch of information!
ALB Tech LLC was founded November 9th, 2007 by Adam Lloyd Bell, the owner/operator. Seeing a need for a quality one stop technology shop in the city, ALB began planning in late summer 2007. By mid-October, the 1208 W. Main St. location was scouted and secured. By early November, ALB Tech was born and the 1800sq ft. space began its face lift. Although the transformation is an on-going process, ALB Tech is open for business.
Finding ALB Tech‘s 1208 West Main Street location was a journey. In the beginning of October, ALB was entertaining the idea of opening up a store by looking online at commercial properties. After talking witha few realtors and viewing a few properties, nothing was a match. Frustrated with the search, ALB decided to look at Craigs List. The third listing down was an ad with a short description and no picture. I was able to set up a showing of the space and instantly knew it was going to work. Things started to fall in to place after that. We moved in in early November and immediately started restoring the building’s beauty. That was 2007.
In August 2013 ALB Tech was awarded #1 Best Computer Repair Shop in Richmond by Richmond Magazine! Here’s some more information and photos about our #1 ranking! Thank you Richmond, VA for all of your wonderful support and patronage! Come in soon and see us!
Zoom forward to spring 2014 after 7 successful years of business. By this point Adam and Jamie had kicked around the idea of a second ALB Tech location around for a while. The biggest hurdle was finding a location that could match the traffic and visibility of the ALB Tech VCU location – open since . Digging through Craigslist one day in May, Jamie found a lead. 8150 Mechanicsville Turnpike in Mechanicsville, Virginia has always been in the Miller family. Built in 1962 it has been a family dwelling as well as, get this, home to a Palm Reader. In 2012 Pioneer Realty listed the space for retail use and their Craigslist post is what sparked Jamie’s interest. He wasn’t too sure about the pictures, the place was pretty rough, but sent the link to Adam. Adam was interested, so Jamie called Jesse Lennon at Pioneer Realty and set up a viewing. Once inside, they knew the location was perfect and the space would be, so in June they started renovations. ALB Tech – We Fix Computers opened August 1st 2014 with Adam and Jamie sharing ownership.
