ALB Tech We Fix Computers Mechanicsville Story – Part 2
Posted on August 5, 2014 Posted in News

So while Adam and Jamie awaited professional services for the asphalt and tree, they headed into the future home of ALB Tech We Fix Computers to tackle the interior.  Luckily they had some help for the initial carpet removal.  Carpentry students from Caroline High School were ready to get some work experience tearing up the old moldy burgundy mess.  That was the easy part, though.  Unfortunately, the missing carpet revealed some pretty nasty, water-damaged sub floor.  The entire first layer (some sort of cardboard-like substance from the 90’s) had to be removed.  Adam and Jamie – with shovels in hand – slaved away pulling that mess up.  They almost fell through a couple times!  Check out the pics.

In the kitchen, things were even worse.  Unchecked plumbing issues had the refrigerator area sinking and several joists needing repair and replacement.  The cabinets were coming out anyway, so all of damaged and cracked wood was pulled and replaced.  A whole new layer of sub floor was added throughout the space.  Also, there were two large old glass doors that needed to go.  The inside would be getting a sliding custom wood “barn” door.  The exterior glass (cracked and falling apart) would be replaced with a wall of workbench for PC repairs and diagnostics.  Here are some more pics of the flooring and door repair.
